Emanuele Filiberto, Duca di Savoia : Piazza San Carlo, Torino


Emanuel Philibert, Duke of Savoy (and victor of the battle at San Quentin (1557) against French occupying forces) in the symbolic act of halting his steed and sheathing his sword - signifying the end of battle and the commencement of Turin as the future capital of Savoy. The Bronze Equestrian was scultpted by Baron Carlo Marochetti in 1833.
